Student Speaker
Kirsten Borsos (DPT '21) will be addressing the class for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) 2021 Graduation Ceremony. Since her start in the program, Kirsten has involved herself in many aspects of the DPT program. She has held a leadership position in the Physical Therapy Student organization as the President of the class of 2021. In this role, she has worked alongside the Vice President acting as the liaison between the cohort, faculty, university, and community. She organized meetings, oversaw processes of the cohort, and managed and participated in student events, fundraisers, and volunteer work.
Throughout her time at GW, Kirsten has been thoroughly involved and volunteered with multiple university-run events including GW Pro Bono Clinic, Adaptive Adventure Day, Special Olympics, SMHS Day of Service, and Global PT Day of Service. In the community, she volunteered with the Northern Virginia Wheelchair Rugby team as well as the DC Amputee Cycling Clinic. She also participated in the GWU Hospital Amputee Clinic, where various healthcare disciplines come together to provide care to people with limb loss. Additionally, Kirsten served as a GW liaison for the Challengers Little League Baseball Organization, a local adaptive baseball team.
To facilitate her learning and growth within the field of physical therapy, Kirsten has attended national conferences including the 2019 Combined Sections Meeting of the American Physical Therapy Association, the 2019 Regional Student Conclave, and the 2019 National Advocacy Dinner hosted at the American Physical Therapy Association Headquarters. She enjoyed completing her clinical rotations in the DC metro area treating various patient populations in a variety of settings. Kirsten is excited to grow as a clinician, develop her clinical skills, and continue her volunteer service as she enters the workforce.
